Daimler Trucks has revealed the BharatBenz ‘BSafe Express’, a specialized truck created for the safe transportation of COVID-19 vaccines. The BSafe Express uses newly developed refrigeration units that make sure the temperature and stability of the COVI-19 vaccines are well monitored and maintained at all stages of delivery, it is also equipped with state-of-the-art connectivity. With the new truck, India can now transport vaccines in perfect condition to different locations and also to remote destinations, bringing hope of a return to normalcy to over 1.3 billion people.
India recently started its corona vaccination campaign, with the aim of vaccinating about 300 million people by July 2021. The BharatBenz BSafe Express truck will create solutions for Indian logistics organizations in the efforts to contribute to the nation’s aim and goal of bringing COVID under control as quickly as possible which is a daunting challenge in the second-most populous country in the world.
Refrigerated container and digital solutions allows fast and safe transportation of vaccines across India
The refrigerated container is delivered by an automotive system solutions provider called Motherson Group. It was made from Glass Reinforced Plastic, XPS Foam, and some other carefully-chosen equipment that makes sure the product is strong, water-resistant, and non-corrosive, yet light-weight and insulated. The refrigerated container can be constructed locally in about 96 hours, making it a practical solution than conventional products which can take about three or more weeks to deliver.
With purpose-built sensors embedded in the container, fleet managers will be able to monitor the temperature, humidity, shock, tilt, and tamper of the container. They can also adjust the temperature, and also sound the alarm if any problem occurs. The BSafe Express truck offers vaccine distributors peace of mind with them tracking both the vehicle and its cargo.
