Kia has recently released the first official pictures of its all-electric Kia EV6, its first dedicated battery-electric car. The electric vehicle will celebrate its official premiere this month and while technical specifications are still not revealed yet. These images show off the Kia EV6’s striking design in detail. The Kia EV6 is based on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 although both cars are different.
The Hyundai’s angular design has been replaced with a curvier and more physical styling language that Kia calls the “Opposites United”. This is a new design language as Kia says it will inspire all future vehicles. In fact, the Kia says its new philosophy provides a “new visual identity, with contrasting combinations of fierce stylistic elements and sculptural shapes”. According to the automaker, the new design language is based on five different design pillars, Bold for nature, Joy for reason, Power to progress, Technology for life, and Tension for serenity.
The front of the Kia EV6 offers striking headlights and also LED daytime running lights. This creates the car’s “Digital Tiger Face”, a design development evoking Kia’s tiger-nose fascia. Moreover, the new Kia EV6 adopts a swept-back windshield, bold rear backside, a firm character line running along the bottom of the doors. The EV6 also has a complex LED taillight arrangement.
The cabin of the Kia EV6 has been unveiled as well, to which the automaker boasts “an innovative use of space”. The most noticeable interior element would be the curved screen at the top of the dashboard that stretches from the driver’s instrument up to the center. The steering wheel is also good-looking and now bears the new Kia logo.
The Kia EV6 will be officially be unveiled later this month and since it’s based on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 we expect it to have the same power output as the ioniq 5.
