ROLLS-ROYCE CULLINAN REVIEW

The Ghost and Phantom are two limousine-style sedans made by Rolls-Royce, but the wealthy and famous, like the rest of the car-buying world, aren’t as fond of the three-box shape as they once were. Rolls-Royce created the Cullinan, the flagship of the SUV genus, to please this segment of mega-rich patrons. The name of this massive vehicle comes from a massive diamond, which is fitting given the ute’s opulence and exorbitant price. The back seat looks like dining space, and the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament proclaims the owner’s wealth.

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan comes with a twin-turbo 6.7-liter V-12 engine that produces 563 horsepower and runs quietly so as not to annoy the cabin’s VIPs. A 60-mph was achieved in just 4.5 seconds when it was tested, which is incredible for a vehicle that weighs about three tons. All-wheel drive is normal, but we wonder that customers can go off the beaten path and risk scratching the paint. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is equipped with an air suspension system that uses data from a road-scanning camera to automatically change the vehicle’s height to correct for road imperfections.

Box-grain leather, lambswool carpeting, exquisite oak trim, and milled-aluminum highlights adorn the luxurious cabin. Rolls-Royce will upgrade almost every aspect of the Cullinan’s already luxurious interior with whatever delights you might envision if you choose an even higher degree of luxury. The exterior of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is, but the vehicle’s liftgate design required the company to add an optional Viewing Suite to the cargo area, which consists of two leather-wrapped seats and a small table that pops out of the floor.

Every model also comes with Apple CarPlay.  A 12.0-inch screen is mounted to the back of each front seat as part of the available rear-seat entertainment option. In addition to a Wi-Fi hotspot, the Cullinan has a custom audio setup with 18 speakers.
